Upcoming Scent Trends - Spring/Summer 2024

Upcoming Scent Trends - Spring/Summer 2024

It's my job to be in the know with all upcoming fragrance trends throughout the seasons, so I thought I would share what I know with you, as well as let you know what we are working on to bring these trends to you.

Today I'll be going through some of the upcoming fragrance trends of Spring/Summer 2024.

So lets go through what I have learnt so far...

The colour of 2024 is Peach Fuzz - This has been announced from Pantone. With this announcement, there is no doubt that more Peach fragrances will be released this Spring/Summer and you will probably see them on the shelves in your high street retailers or online. Peach is the perfect Spring/Summer fragrance, plus its a great fragrance to blend! At The Oil Store we already offer a Peach Fragrance (Honeysuckle & Peach Spritz), but to keep up with the trends we are currently having new peach blends being made, these include (and please note you have seen it here first, all our blends come from my brain, and I want to be able to share my knowledge with you all) A blend consisting of peach, strawberries and sweetened vanilla cream - With this we are trying to nail two trends in one, the other trend I shall get onto in a little white! We are also working on a fragrance that includes notes of peach, lotus blossom and fresh bergamot - this will smell very fresh and 'airy' as the vision with this fragrance is to encapsulate a warm spring breeze.

The next trend of Spring/Summer is Gourmand, you may of noticed a lot of new perfumes that have been released lately have notes of vanilla, but the gourmand trend goes deeper - Consumers want a gourmand fragrance which is not in your face vanilla with cake and sugar.. Its a gourmand fragrance with depth, so for example we have an oil called Life's Short, Eat The Pastries, and this demonstrates how you can turn a gourmand fragrance into something "sophisticated".

Smoke is the next trend, often off putting to a lot of people, but smokey notes are becoming more popular in 2024. Also upcoming is Incense - you will find alot of incense notes in new perfume releases, plus notes of frankincense.

Next staying a staple every Spring/Summer is aquatic notes! I do not think this fragrance will ever go out of trend when spring summer comes around every year.. Its fresh, its light and its summery! We are working on a few new aquatic based fragrances behind the scenes, we have one with pink sea salt, ocean breeze and coconut and another with a more floral approach - frangipani, toasted coconut and bergamot waters. We currently offer a few aquatic based fragrances including Sea Breeze.

Tropical fruits - This is also a spring summer trend that I think will return every year. We are working on some new tropical fruit blends, including Raspberry Tangerine, rhubarb and pear (Not so tropical, but still fruity!), and a blend of passion fruit, ylang ylang and misty rainforest. We currently offer a very tropical fragrance which is Blue Grotto , Sunshine Fruit and another is Pink Pineapple Sunrise.

Lastly I feel this trend is more for Spring, its the floral notes, with a particular fragrance making a come back after many years; Magnolia! Floral fragrances always pair well with the season of Spring. A perfect Spring fragrance which is floral what we stock right now is Scent Of Geisha.

I think I have covered the most popular trends I have come across, one more to note is that sage and yellow tones will also be a big colour this year, if you want that to work with fragrances then pair our Happiness oil to yellow, or you could pair our upcoming Tropidelic oil with sage.

I could keep typing on and on about what I learn in the fragrance world. I am unsure why I did not do a blog sooner, but I will be sure to share all the trends I learn about with you. Fragrance is something I am so passionate about!
